Pay Per Click Advertising: What Is It and Why Is Important?

As in my previous post I describe What is PPC what I am going to tell you little about PPC i.e Pay Per Click. Pay per click Advertising or PPC is an online ad strategy that is intended to drive traffic to your website base on a “auction like” model where website owners pay to the search engines or social media portals.

Advertisers bid on keywords or phrases that are important for the market that they are targeting.  When a search engine or a social media portal gets an inquiry related to the keyword or phrase that you are bidding for, a banner is placed so that users can click on it and be directed to the intended “landing page” that will disclose the information the user is looking for. It is important to understand that PPC can be an expensive ad method if the keywords you bid on are very competitive and get a lot of traffic.  Popular keywords will cost more but can also bring more traffic to your website; this is why it is important to let experts manage a PPC campaign.PPC is one of the most profitable advertising and marketing channels. This view is shared by most online marketers, who in 2007, according to Marketing Sherpa, ranked PPC and email marketing as the two channels with the highest ROI.I am going to mention 4 reason that's why PPC is most beneficial :
  1. Pay Per Click Helps You Find Problems With Your Offering, Promos, or Website
  2. Pay Per Click Brands Your Company While Selling Its Offerings
  3. Pay Per Click Yields a High Return on Investment
  4. Pay Per Click Gives You Instant Targeted Traffic

What is Google

Google is the most popular search engine in the world. Google is developed by Larry Page and Sergey Brin who is Ph. D. students at standford university. They developed a search engine algorithm that ranked Web pages not just by content and keywords, but by how many other Web pages linked to each page. Some sites do not follow google guidlines such as keyword stuffing, link exchange cloaking etc. To remove this problem google update their algorithm time by time.
